Betty J Gardiner

A skilled entrepreneur, Betty has managed and run several successful businesses in her lifetime. In the early 60s, many women were establishing themselves as homemakers, but this gal wanted more than that. In 1968, she and her husband, Bernie, opened the first of their retail empire—Mason’s Flowers. Through the coming decades, the two went on to open a retail gift store and three additional flower shops. Since then, Gardiner has practiced as a licensed real estate agent in the state of Maryland for 36 years and has managed offices for several real estate firms in the Greater D.C. Metropolitan area. Even with her busy schedule, she finds time to give back to the community by dedicating time to charitable and service organizations. A proud member of Kiwanis International, she served as Lt. Governor for the Kiwanis Capital Region (2006-2007). When asked where she gets her seemingly endless supply of energy and motivation she said, “follow your passion and the rest will come easily.”
